You Stay Classy, Tom Brady

As if I need to tell him that. Tom Brady and the Patriots took an over-night flight to London for their game against the Buccaneers. And this game is so lop-sided that the biggest story leading up to this game is No. 12 and his dapper duds.

Did he miss the memo to wear team gear like his 50 other teammates? Or is Tom Brady simply the biggest boss we've seen thus far? I'll have to go with the latter. This is classic Tom Brady. I'd hate to draw this comparison, but it reminds me a little bit of Broadway Joe and his love for fur coats and swanky style. Except Joe Namath is one of the most overrated players ever. But I'm here to talk about a real quarterback.

The best part of this story? The Patriots didn't touch down in London until 5:35 a.m. No one was there to see a well-groomed Brady step foot in the motherland. This is a big event, you know. Probably the equivalent of the Beatles coming to America. I hope Englanders forget about how we whooped that ass in the Revolutionary War and respect they way American football should be played because that's what they will be seeing; a profession football team.

Some have had this game marked on their calendars from the day the teams were announced. The UKPats are an organized booster club, who gather every Sunday to watch their beloved team play. They even organize trips across the pond to catch a few Pats games from Gillette Stadium. This is fucking awesome! You mean to tell me that the Patriots have their own gang of hooligans in London like this is European football? You gotta be kidding me! That has to be the ultimate sign of respect for an American team. I just hope they don't have pussies like Elijah Wood fighting for the Pats.

Deja Vu All Over Again?

Let me begin by saying that the Yankees should be in the World Series already. But after gagging up game 3 and foiling a game 5 come-from-behind victory, everyone is thinking it. Angel fans. Yankee fans. The players. Joe Girardi. The media pundits. Me.

Will the Yankees choke in the ALCS again?

I think the answer lies in Yankee manager, Joe Girardi. He's already been accused of mismanaging earlier in the series. And after leaving Burnett in to start the seventh off after getting the lead was down right dumb. Then he brings in Damaso Marte to relieve him? Are you kidding me? Hey, I know I hate on the Yankees a lot, but I would knock those moves regardless of the team and my hatred for said team.

Why not start the inning off with Phil Hughes, and have Rivera ready to come in at the first sign of trouble? It's worked the whole second half of the season to near-perfection. An ALCS collapse after placing third in the AL East would more than likely mean Girardi's job under the hot spotlight of the New York media.

In all honesty, I want the Yankees to win the ALCS. We don't need some west coast team ruining an all east coast World Series. The defending World Champions battling the stoic New York Yankees. That is the best story for a World Series since the Red Sox winning in 2004. It's a matchup where, from a fan standpoint, there's no loser. (Unless, of course, you root for either the Phillies or Yankees.) Great pitching vs. great pitching. Power hitting vs. power hitting. New York vs. Philadelphia. Plus, who doesn't love seeing a Muts fan having to decide who they want to win more, the older brother Yankees or arch-nemesis Phillies? HA! I love it!
I hope we get to see a magical game 7 in New York. Win or lose it will be a grand christening for new Yankee Stadium--the only thing better would be winning a World Series in it. John Saunders vs. Andy Pettite is the match-up. Let's hope the Angels stay in the outfield until Game 7.

An inspirational video for Vlad and the crew. If you don't win, I will never have a family. Just sayin' guys. No pressure or anything.

The Blackest White Kid You Know Presents: Lil' Wayne-Live From Prison

New York(Reuters)- Rapper Lil Wayne pleaded guilty on Thursday to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in a July 2007 incident and will serve a year in prison, New York City prosecutors said.

Lil Wayne, 27, who won best rap album at the 2009 Grammy Awards and whose real name is Dwayne Carter, agreed to a plea deal with prosecutors and will be sentenced at New York State Supreme Court in February. Prosecutors said a gun was found in his tour bus in July 2007.

Carter had convinced the court earlier to delay his trial date to accommodate his performing schedule. The rapper would have faced more serious gun possession charges if the case had gone to trial, as well as a maximum 15-year prison sentence, a spokeswoman at the Manhattan District Attorney's Office said.

Carter's album, "Tha Carter III," was the biggest-selling U.S. release of 2008 and won him best rap album and three other prizes at the 2009 Grammy Awards. (Reporting by Edith Honan, Editing by Christine Kearney)

Ironic Weezy Quote of the Day from 'A Milli': "And I'd rather be pushing flowers/Than be in the 'pen sharing showers." HA!

I know I said this segment was going to be a weekly addition, but I couldn't pass this story up. I mean, is anyone really surprised by this? Weezy F. Baby is most certainly the phattest rapper on planet. Fo' sho'! But perhaps the F stands for fuck up? Because this is not the first time Wayne has had run-ins with the law.
  1. August 2006: He was arrested in Atlanta for possession of Xanax, marijuana and hydrocodene while staying in the Twelve Hotel.
  2. July 2007: Weezy was pulled over in his tourbus in New York City for the smell of marijuana. When the police searched the bus they found an unregistered gun and arrested the rapper.
  3. October 2007: He was arrested yet again in Boise, ID on felony-fugitive charges stemming from his August arrest in 2006. His lawyers blame it on a paperwork mix-up.
  4. January 2008: Police in Yuma, AZ found marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy. The trial will take place this coming March.

Now I'm no detective, but I think Wayne may have a small drug problem. I don't know, I'm just guessing here.

But the larger question is does anyone really care if someone like Lil' Wayne (Call me old-fashioned, but shouldn't it be little?) gets arrested on drugs and gun charges? I know I don't. Shit, that's half the reason why I love the guy's music; because he talks about dealing drugs, toting guns, and having threesomes with Brazilian bitches in bikinis. (Sorry Mom. It was his words not mine!) If anything this only will give him more street credit and fan fare.

My only concern for the "Best Rapper Alive" is him surviving prison. I mean, he goes by Lil' Wayne for a reason folks. The dude's not even 160 pounds soaking wet. Now he's going to have to deal with men who have earned their tatoo tears.

In honor of Lil Wayne's trouble with the law here's a video off the Drought IV mixtape, "Trouble".

Sleazy Sidedish uses Craigslist to Harrass Steve Phillips' Wife

NewYorkPost.com- After ESPN talking head Steve Phillips dumped his portly, production-assistant lover, the jilted woman posted a Craigslist ad offering $50 for someone to call Phillips' wife and cruelly taunt her, The Post has learned.

A Connecticut waitress answered the ad for the "urgent job," which didn't mention Phillips and was posted on Aug. 5 by ESPN employee and ex-Phillips lover Brooke Hundley.

Hundley hid her identity by calling herself "Kelly Burns" -- and even provided the woman a script to read over the phone, the waitress said yesterday. The script called for Arp to say Steve Phillips had been cheating with a "young woman at our work," and that "if you want to catch them tonight, they are planning to meet after the show at 12:30ish in the Target parking lot of I-84 just down from work."

The script even included instructions like: "Pause and act like this is really hard for you to tell her." (for Brooke's e-mail to Arp go here.)

Arp told The Post that after Marni Phillips answered her phone, "I got as far as saying, 'You don't know me, but I work with Steve,' and she hung up."

Arp said that the next day, Hundley had her call Marni again and leave two voice-mail messages.

"But [Hundley] seemed upset that I still didn't talk to [Phillips' wife] in person," Arp said. "That's when I started to think a little bit, 'This girl is crazy.' "

Oh man. This is great. Pure gold, I tell ya. Pure gold! I mean, I thought the girls I hooked up with were fucking crazy. Turns out I've been easy street!

Undoubtedly, Brooke Hundley doesn't have it all upstairs. Craig's List to find a 'phone stalker'? I've always been a believer in if you want something done right...hire someone through an anonymous website to do it for you. It's just how I was raised. But in all seriousness, the blame can be passed all the way around here. Steve Phillips, what are you doing with someone who looks like a coke whore? I mean, c'mon. You're on TV for Christ's sake. And maybe Hundley wouldn't have done this if you met her at a classier place than the Target parking lot off I-85. Maybe the Super 8? I hear they have great hourly rates.

How dire are Arp's straits to be surfing through Craig's List and actually think this would be something she could excel at? It was for 50 god damn dollars! What are you doing with your life Courtney Arp?

The blame can't all go on Hundley here, but I love this story. I hope more information is on the way.

The 5-Year Anniversary of the Greatest Comeback in Sports History

Today marks the single most significant day of my short life. Five years ago, the Boston Red Sox completed the greatest comeback in sports history against the New York Yankees in the ALCS. In case you missed it the Red Sox, down 3-0, rallied off four consectutive victories to reach the World Series...and eventually win their first title in 86 years. They broke the Curse of the Bambino while shattering the moral of Yankee fans across the country.

With the Red Sox ousted from the playoffs and the Yankees biting at the heels of their 27th world championship, I was feeling nostalgic. I want to feel what Yankee fans are feeling now. And I know my fellow Red Sox Nation members are feeling the same way. In honor of Red Sox Nation here is a slideshow of the historic events starting at Game 3.

The Apocalypse is Here (almost): A New York-Philadelphia World Series

Let me first start by saying that I have an issue to address. I was told yesterday by one of my friends that this blog gets a little too redundant with all this New York bashing that I do. Well, I appreciate your advise Barry Larkin (Yes. THEE 1995 NL MVP!), but this is a sports blog about a Masshole being dropped right-smack in the middle of Yankee County! What else am I supposed to write about? Having said that, I'm willing to comply to my reader's needs. So in light of Barry Larkin's wise words, today I will go light on the New York hate, maybe just pepper in some witty banter here and there.

Last night sealed the deal for me. Watch out world. The New York Yankees have the fast track to their 27th World Series. C.C. Sabathia looked...does anyone know a better word for dominant? Because he was that good. He's been worth his contract in the postseason alone. Plus, the guy's got a nasty arm sleeve going on his non-throwing arm. Gotta respect a guy who can rock the sleeve. The guy's a fucking rockstar in New York right now!

Speaking of stars, they seem to have been aligned for the Yankees all year as they rattled off walk-off wins one after another. And since A-Rod finally decided to start playing October baseball that lineup is longer than Ron Jeremy!

Moving on to the Senior Circuit, the Phillies are poised for back-to-back trips to the World Series after going up 3-1 to the Dodgers last night. I tell you one thing, if there's anyone group of fans I hate more than Yankee fans, it has to be the Philly sports fans. Atleast the Yankees have a classy stigma attached to their name. The Phillies are from Philthadelphia. Their fans are philthy, just like their city. You can't even carry on a conversation without it turning to how this is the year the Eagles and McNabb get over the hump.

I'll give you guys the Phillies, a well-rounded team that's on their way to rightfully defending their title. Their starting staff is equal or better than that of the Yankees, while the offense is equally comparable. The only mismatch will more than likely be their downfall to the Evil Empire, their closer. Ryan Madson/Brad Lidge or Mariano 'The Greatest' Rivera? I'll side with the latter on that one thank you very much. (Oh and it appears that MLB deemed Rivera not guilty of doctoring the ball. I'm not sure how they could tell one way or another, but good for him. He doesn't need the negative attention, although I would like to see it!) Can you picture Brad Lidge closing out game 7 in Yankee Stadium and facing the winning run in Alex Rodriguez? I'm sure he's shitting himself just thinking about it.

Despite my obvious displeasure for both teams, this is best matchup for baseball. What more can you ask for? The defending World Series champs return to fend off the mighty New York Yankees; who are looking for their first title in nine years! Both teams collide with power arms and power bats. It should be another classic Fall Classic! Let's just hope L.A. doesn't ruin the All East Coast Bias Series.

The Blackest White Kid You Know Presents the Random Rap Video of the Week.

This is something new I'm trying out in an attempt to diversify the Improp. Because there is more to life than sports. I think..

Aside from sports, I also have a deep affinity for rap/hip-hop music. As a matter of fact, I am knee deep in the rap game. What John Clayton is to the NFL, I am to rap. I swear. I'm hip. I'm with it. From Jay-Z to Talib Kweli to Run DMC I know it all. My first concert was Kanye West "The Truth Tour 2004" at the Fleetcenter.

So don't think I'm just some shorty fronting, do you know what I am saying? I am not a wigger. I am the blackest white kid you know. Or the whitest black kid. However you want to look at it. Sure I may be from Cape Cod. So what, I went to Catholic school. And yes I go to a school filled with Jews. But all that doesn't mean I can't cut up a mean rug when the DJ puts on "Get Low" by Lil' John & the Eastside Boyz.

Having said that I would like to share my wealth of hip-hop knowledge on to the world. BUT I'll start off slow. I don't want insult the virgin ears of my respected readers. In honor of the slice of heaven that I grew up in, here is a video to show how the bosses in the beach houses kick it. Yo.
