This story just goes to further the fact Wes had made about a week ago that America really is the greatest country on earth, especially when it comes to drinking. A blood bank in Tacoma, Washington has come up with one of the better ideas I have ever stumbled across. It's all for a good cause too, everyone wins!
They have started a promotion that gives out a free pint of beer at participating bars for giving a pint of blood. I don’t need to hear any more details, as soon as I hear free beer, it could be just about anything and I’m going to be down with it. Something as easy as giving blood, tell me where to sign up. My question is, why haven’t they started this promo at colleges across the country. If you want kids to give blood, all you need to do is mention the word beer and you would have people lined up like there was an audition for American Idol. Even if its only one beer, us college kids are poor and after paying up to 5 or 6 dollars for a beer before a tip, that money comes in handy. That’s an entire 12 pack of natty. 12 packs of natty are like gold in college you can get 6 games of pong out of that.
So back to the blood drive, Colleges and blood banks step your game up. You need to take a page out of the Cascade Regional Blood Services playbook. The best part of the promotion, is that they offer the free beer between 11am and 1pm on the day of the blood drive. Not only are you loosing a pint of blood, your refilling that void with straight bud light. Nothing like giving to a helpful cause, and being hammered at noon. My 2 favorite things in the world are giving, and more so being hammered during the day. That was like my college life, giving out beatings on the pong tables, and trying to stay hammered as much as possible. We thank you Cascade Regional Blood Services, more charities need to be like you guys.
