Giants Win?

Giants Finally decide to show up on a Sunday... Jets continue sliding in the wrong direction. (I'll let my main man X cover that one if he chooses. My guess, tune in around August 2010 if you want any more J-E-T-S coverage!)

So this is what it feels like to be a happy New Yorker on a Sunday evening following a Giants victory. It's been so long I almost forgot. It almost didn't happen too due to the fact their defense decided to take some time off from playing around 7 minutes to go in the game, we'll get to that later. The D looked pretty sharp throughout most of the first half. led by Eli Manning's career high 384 passing yards and 3 touchdowns the offense started showing signs of life similar to the first 5 games of the season.

The G-men put together a 31-17 lead which they held into the middle part of the fourth quarter. I almost threw my remote through the tv as they began playing like the G-men of the past 4 weeks. At 6:01 they allowed the first Falcon comeback touchdown followed by another td at :28 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the score up at 31 all.

Luckily for the Giants, they won the toss in overtime and received the ball first. They marched down the field with help from the Superbowl XLIII MVP. They got the ball within striking distance for Tynes who nailed home a 33 yard FG to take the game back.

It was nice to see the Giants come off the Bye week firing on all cylinders in the beginning. They had no business blowing a 14 point lead, but a win is a win. This game was in my mind a must win for both of these teams. This could be the game that the Falcons look back on as the end to their season. They move to 5-5 with a similar script as the Giants this season. They started 4-1, only to go 1-4 over their last 5 to put their playoff chances in jeopardy.
