Notre Dame Head Coach Hot Stove Report

The season isn't even over, and as of now Charlie Weis is still the head football coach at Notre Dame, but that hasn't stopped rumors from surfacing about who could replace Weis if he is in fact fired at the end of the season.
The name Urban Meyer has been mentioned several times, but Meyer has made it clear that he is more than happy at Florida. I do believe ND still has an outside shot at pulling in Meyer, but they do need contingency plans.
Sources close to the situation reveal that Brian Billick has become a "very serious and viable" candidate for the position. Billick was once considered a "offensive genius," but his Baltimore Ravens teams were known mosty for their defense's.
Perhaps the candidate who sits on top right now is Cincinnati's Brian Kelly...Kelly has told CBS sports that an announcement pertaining to the Notre Dame job will come in "7-10 days."
