NETS TO FIRE HEAD COACH LAWRENCE FRANK

According to reports the New Jersey Nets will fire their head coach Lawrence Frank very soon. The Nets sit at 0-16, one loss away from tying the NBA record for losses to start a season. The Nets face the Lakers tonight at the Staples Center, so that record is all but tied.

ESPN's Chris Sheridan says sources report that Frank has known for about a week that he would be getting fired very soon...Frank is just waiting for "where and when it would happen."

The Nets will return to New Jersey after tonight's game, and it is believed Frank will be fired on Monday. All signs indicate that General Manger Kiki Vandeweghe will take his place, and be ready to coach Wednesday night when the Nets face the Dallas Mavericks at the IZOD center.

Personally I like Lawrence Frank a lot. The guy is a hard worker, who has maximized and squeezed all the juice out of every opportunity he has ever been given. He will get another coaching job, and I think it says a lot about him that he is willing to continue to coach this team even as a "dead man walking." And honestly its not his fault that the front office has done little to improve the team for him. After you trade away Richard Jefferson, and let Vince Carter sign in Orlando what do you really have left? Devin Harris is a great player, but besides that you have a bunch of journeyman, and young late first round picks.
