Absolutely Insane

This play happened tonight in the Florida Panthers vs. Atlanta Thrashers NHL Game. After the goal is scored, Keith Ballard of the Panthers tries breaking his stick on on the goal post. Only problem, he completely missed and struck is own teammate, Goaltender Tomas Vokoun right in the side of the head. He hit him so hard that even though Vokoun was wearing his face mask he was still cut badly and bloodied after the incident. I hate to see this happen no matter who the player and what the sport may be. How the hell do you think Ballard must feel right now. Hopefully like shit cause that was one of the dumbest moves I have ever seen. If your going to try breaking your stick, make sure no one is in the way, including your own teammate. I hope Vokoun is going to be alright. If you skip through a little bit around 6:26 in the video you can see a better head on camera shot and you see the impact of the stick cracking him in the head. Maybe Hockey morons will think twice the next time they go trying to break a stick off the goal post. To add insult to injury, the Panthers lost the game by 4-3 and the winning goal was a shot that deflected off the stick of Keith Ballard and and went in. To say the least Ballard didn't have a game he wants to remember.
