Nets Fire Frank

As if We didn't see it coming, and maybe even a day earlier than we thought, the New Jersey Nets fired Head Coach Lawrence Frank early Sunday Morning. Like X said in his post yesterday concerning the matter, it really is too bad. Frank is a good guy and a very devoted coach. He was well liked in the Locker room by all his players and he always treated players the same and didn't have favorites. Some things that may shock you about Frank:

- He was the longest tenured Coach in the Eastern Conference
- His 225 wins are the most in Franchise History since the Nets joined the NBA
- He entered this season with a career .500 record

Its unfortunate the Nets have run into such an injury plagued season already. Eight players have already missed multiple games due to injury. They have some decent talent, but they just aren't putting anything together. It doesn't help when you trade away your star player in the off-season to pretty much clear out the payroll. Firing Frank was just an out for the upper management, any team that goes 0-17 (figuring they lose to the Lakers tonight) to start a season, isn't keeping their Head Coach around. That 0-17 mark will tie the NBA record. Like X stated, I'm sure Frank will find another Head Coaching job down the line and I wish him the best. I think its safe to say the 2010 off-season is going to be a crazy one for both the Knicks and the Nets.
