Spotlight Artist Of the Week

This week, in light of the Yankees winning the World Series I would like to take the time to share an amazing new artist to our Improper readers, Fo Onassis. I'm sure you have already heard his new hit single, "Here Come the Yankees" featuring Mina all over the radio, and television where it was featured on Sportscenter and MLB Network.

There are definitely big things coming for Fo Onassis, now lets take a minute and get to know him a little better.

Adolfo Ramirez, born November 25, 1981, popularly known as "Fo Onassis" is a Hip- Hop artist and current President and CEO of Sizzle Grizzle Entertainment. Known by many for his lyrics and great performance, he's gained the respect of fans all around. Except, none of this came overnight his own hip-hop story begins long before that. Like many artist in the industry today "Fo Onassis" was raised in the streets of NY but, at the age of 8, his parents moved to New Jersey to provide him and his brother a better life. He composed his first rhyme at the age of 16 and would record in his own room through his computer, only dreaming of someday being a rapper. Who would ever know he would get this far. Already passionate about Hip-Hop and rap Onassis was forever influenced by music. A few years later Onassis took a serious interest in making his dreams a reality. In 2000 he started off with almost no equipment recording out of the basement of his mothers own home. He worked with engineer, Critiq, and producer, Lynx to come up with songs unlike the rest. Those who know Onassis and his music understand that he's developed his own style; he is truly a multi-faceted artist. This was the beginning of Team flawless, Onassis and a few other members dedicated there money and time to get things started.

The basement became there home, days and nights of hard work and dedication that would someday payoff. They started ther first performances in there home city of NY. Team Flawless was now a known name as they began to develop there own based fans. Pushing even harder for recognition, in 2003 Team Flawless came out with there first demo, but unfortunately it never really made it to the streets. Jumping from record label to record label no one would give them the chance they all dreamed of. These experiences only gave them the will to work harder. They went back to the studio to pull out there second demo, which was finally there first success. More performances followed, and the number of fans began to grow. Many thought this would actually lead them to the road of success. Dreams once again shattered in the blink of an eye.

Members came and went, frustration grew and Onassis' dedication and will only became stronger. The loss of his members was devastating but he wasn't about to give up. He still had supporters that wanted to see him succeed. Six years later, after all the hard work, dedication and sacrifice Onassis has released two mix tapes (Hip-Noh radio vol. 1 and Hip-Noh Satellite vol. 2) and dropped his first album "Somebody's Got To Win". He now owns his own record label ("Sizzle Grizzle Ent.") and has had more then one successful event promoting his music. Its more then obvious how many fans have stuck with him from day one and how many he's developed along the way.
