Brad Lidge Chokes Again; Yanks lead WS, 3-1

Brad Lidge's 2008 season statistics: 2-0, 1.95 ERA, 48-48 saves, 15 ER, 92 K, 1.22 WHIP
Brad Lidge's 2009 season statistics: 0-9, 7.21 ERA, 31-42 saves, 47 ER, 61 K, 1.80 WHIP

I think he's still waiting for one of his teammates to perform the Heimlich. That's how bad he choked tonight. I mean, when you bail out Joba Chamberlain you know you've fucked up big time.

The Philadelphia Phillies, looking very promising in Game 1 of the World Series, have fallen to a 3-1 deficit and now face elimination tomorrow. That's not to say that they haven't had chances. They have had chances this whole series, but Chase Utley can't hit every time. Can he?

And Alex Rodriguez has been a centaur the last two games. Yesterday after being beaned by Cole Hamels he bashes a two-run homer. After getting plunked in the first inning tonight by Joe Blanton, A-Rod hits the go-ahead RBI double off of Lidge in the top of the ninth. If anyone deserves a World Series ring this postseason, it has to be A-Rod [solely based off of number, of course].

Alex Rodriguez's 2009 postseason statistics: .340 AVG, 7 HR, 16 RBI, 10 BB, 12 R, .460 OBPThe guy got robbed out of the ALCS MVP, and I'll be damned if he doesn't win the World Series MVP. I understand C.C. is a horse. But A-Rod is doing what Big Papi did for the Red Sox in 2004. And if Burnett and the Yanks wrap up the series tomorrow, A-Rod might be hoisting that trophy in Philly.

Jimmy Rollins will receive the other MVP award--The Most Valuable Prediction. Before the series J-Roll was on Jay Leno and said the series would be done in 5 games. He may very well be right, except it will be the Yankees and not his Philadelphia Phillies finishing up the series.
