Alabama is lucky to be able to call themselves the National Champions tonight. They should have never let a true freshman and a McCoyless Texas even be in the game in that 4th quarter.
It came down to one play. The shuffle pass at the end of the first half might haunt Mack Brown's dreams for the rest of his life. He should have been content just being down 11 going into half and see what Colt's status was. Instead, after a 9 yard run, he decides to take a timeout with 15 seconds to go and try to run another play. If your going to take the TO and run a play, why not take a shot down field and get into FG range. Instead, they botch the shuffle pass, Bama scores, game over right there.
Then, when Texas was actually mounting a comeback on the shoulders of Jordan Shipley, Kirk Herbstreit has to open his douchebag mouth. Right before a snap late in the fourth quarter when Texas got the ball down 3, he had to make a comment on how the O-line of Texas hadnt allowed a sack all night. Whats the next thing that happens, Gilbert gets sacked, fumbles the football and Bama recovers on the 3 yard line. Keep your pussy Ohio State mouth shut Herbstreit no one needs you jinxing shit, you dont even deserve to be in the same booth as Brent Musburger.
Congratulations to Alabama, I didn't really care who won but I will say they sure are lucky McCoy went down on the first drive of the game.
I would also like to add, we may have seen a star in the making tonight with Garret Gilbert. 18 year old kid showed some balls tonight on the biggest stage in college football. He's definitely a player to watch the next few years.
