Tight game in Texas

They say things are always bigger in Texas. Last night was no exception especially when it comes to blow out wins. The Yates High School basketball team defeated Lee High School 170-35 setting a Texas High School record. To say the least there is a little controversy surrounding this narrow victory. Lee's head coach wasn’t too pleased.

“I feel very disrespected right now,” Lee coach Jacques Armant said. “I don't understand why Yates just kept scoring and pressing when they were up so much. These are kids. It isn't good to do that to other young men.”

What’s even worse than this final score? The halftime score, 100-12. That's just not even funny. There’s a point where you have to take it easy. Yates could have played 1 on 5 the entire second half and still come away with a comfortable victory. It's guys like the Yates head coach, Greg Wise (pictured Below) that really take the fun and meaning out of sports. After numerous fights started breaking out in the game, don’t you think you would get your starters out and take it easy. Why would you want to risk the safety of your players in order to set some stupid records? Class and sportsmanship on display last night at Butler Fieldhouse.

Yes, clearly Lee sucks but there’s no reason to embarrass the kids. Worst part for Lee, these two teams meet again at the end of the month. I hope they put that game on TV cause you know Lee is going to come looking to fight. I wouldn’t doubt it if they have blades in their socks at the start of the game.
