In the first New York Vs. Boston battle since the blog changed formats...The Islanders beat the Bruins 4-1 Monday night at the TD Banknorth Garden.
Matt Moulson continues to have a breakout season tallying 2 more goals, to bring his season total to 8. John Tavares also had a goal, and Mr.Reliable Richard Park added 3 assists.
Although the Islanders were out shot 29-21, the Bruins simply did not have an answer for Dwayne Roloson...Roli the goalie was outstanding, making several highlight reel saves.
Don't look now, but the Islanders, last years worst team in the NHL are on a tear. In their last 11 games the Islanders are 7-2-2, and find themselves in 7th place in the east. With goaltender Rick DiPietro slated to come back soon the Islanders might actually have a chance to compete for a playoff spot...What a turn around that would be.
Islanders fans should take this season one game at a time, because you never know with this team. But for now, all that matters is the score is New York 1, Boston 0...
