The Blackest White Kid You Know presents...a White Kid?

Even the Blackest White Kid You Know is an equal-opportunity employer. Get with the times, yo! Mike Posner is da trufus roofus. I came across him last week and my ears fell in love. I instantly downloaded both of his mixtapes "A Matter of Time" and "One Foot Out the Door".

A producer, singer, songwriter, and pianist Posner has a unique style that is being labeled as "Synthpop/Hip-Hop". Listening to him for the first time reminded me of the first time I heard Kanye West. It blew my mind. The music is unlike most of what I hear our right now. Here's a little insight on the young musician.

The 22-year-old Mike Posner (born February 12, 1988) of Southfield, Michigan, first became interested in playing music in the fifth grade when he became a drummer in his elementary school band. Posner first began making his own beats at age thirteen. Four years later, he was a vocalist when he was featured several times on Detroit's 102.7 FM. He currently attends Duke University, where he is majoring in sociology . He is also a brother of Sigma Nu.

He currently is completing his senior year at Duke University, touring on the weekends, and recording his debut album. In July 2009, Posner signed a major label deal with J Records (RCA/Sony).

Posner's second mixtape, "One Foot Out The Door" was released on October 27, 2009.

The web series accompanying this mixtape, also titled "One Foot Out The Door," first aired on September 30, and will run every other week through December 2009.

He performed on national television for the first time on the TV show Last Call with Carson Daly on Tuesday, October 27, 2009.
