Hey just BUST a move

It's like a broken record when talking about the career of the oh so promising Greg Oden. Honestly its gotten so bad for the 260-pound 7 footer, the Blazers official website has its own blog dedicated to Oden's rehab schedules. Like, is this a joke? This blog has had more changes done to it than Lindsay Lohans sexuality the past 3 years. First of all why would you even put that up on your team site, and second of all why would Oden allow it. Oh, wait, thats right, cause hes one of the biggest busts the NBA has ever seen. Yes, I said it, ever.

He was the number one overall pick in the 2007 draft out of Ohio State. Even in his one year of college, he didn't play a full season. He had wrist surgery that side lined him at the beginning of his college career. When he came back he played mostly left handed but when your as big as he is, your still going to be good. I said from the beginning when he was being talked about in college that I wasn't buying the hype. So what happens right after he is drafted No. 1 overall? He injures his knee sidelining him for the entire 07-08 season. Didn't play a single game. But I can see where Blazer fans stuck by his side and didn't get too upset, I mean come on, that's your franchise player. But then last season, injuries sidelined Oden again missing 20 games. Okay, an improvement from the year before at least.

That brings us to this season. All the promise, finally a fully healthy Greg Oden. All that money and time spent waiting for this phenom to have his break-out season. Guess again. Oden suffered another knee injury playing against the Rockets last week. He fractured his knee cap after colliding with Aaron Brooks trying to contest a lay up. Oden needs surgery once again and is going to miss the remainder of the season. He could miss up to a year which would mean he wouldn't even be ready for opening day next season.

To be honest, I feel awful for the guy. From all accounts he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I never wish harm on anyone especially any pro athletes (minus some Boston players) but there comes a time when enough is enough. He either needs to get out of Portland, or just leave the game for good. Both sides are losing on this deal and I cant see Oden ever staying healthy for an entire season. Really is sad, so much promise, a number 1 overall pick, and hasn't played more than a 1/3 of his teams games since he has been in the League 3 seasons. (counting the rest of this season)
