Turner out for OSU

Ohio State star Junior Evan Turner will be missing some significant time after fracturing his back against Western Michigan Saturday. After the game it was revealed, he was diagnosed with a transverse process fracture on the second and third lumbar vertebra of his spine. The injury is going to set him back about 8 weeks according to Ohio State.. This is a crushing blow for the Buckeyes who have opened up the season at 7-1 and a #13 ranking in the AP poll. Turner was the front-runner to be the Big 10 player of the year this season and was even involved in talks of being the best player in the Country. He was averaging 20.6 points, 12.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists a game, numbers that will be hard to replace for OSU. I'm sure they will be able to hang in the Big 10 without Turner but it wont be easy. If they can just get by these next 8 weeks and get Turner back, they could still be a team to watch come tourney time in March.
