Kellen Clemens to start this sunday for the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS

I actually think this is a good thing. Let’s face it, even if we are only one game out of the division and the card, the playoffs are still a long shot. Sure we have the Bucs this Sunday, a game we SHOULD win, but after that we have a trio of games against the Falcons, Colts, and Bengals in which we are bound to lose one. Even if we win out, 10-6 might not lock up a spot this year. Lets say we do go to the playoffs, how much damage do you think an injury riddled New York Jets team can do? Sanchez believes he can play, and is frustrated that he is not, but Rex Ryan is doing the smart thing here—The Jets have invested a lot of money into Sanchez, we don’t want him ending up like Namath. Perhaps this will strike some sort of fear in Mark Sanchez, make him realize that he isn’t just entitled to the starting job, and rumor has it Sanchez might be shelved for the rest of the season. Let me preface what I’m about to say with this…Mark Sanchez is in my opinion the future of the New York Jets at quarterback—but with that said, I’d love to see Kellen Clemens play well, after all Clemens is still very young, and if he performs well at least we have a viable option at quarterback if Sanchez doesn’t become The Sanchise. If Clemens performs well, and the Jets still decide Sanchez is the future, Clemens could become a valuable trading piece come the 2010 draft. This could motivate Sanchez, make him train harder and focus greater this off season—It also could make for a very interesting and very real quarterback competition in training camp. Unlike what we saw this past summer, when we knew the job was all but Sanchez’s….Stay Tuned, at least the Jets always make it interesting.
