Jets Steal Bucs Pirate Booty...In The HUNT!!!

The Pats still have a one game lead, but the AFC East is a 3 horse race right now, one that will go down to the wire, and the Wild Card-- well called its wild for a reason, anything can happen this season.

I didn't have the opportunity to watch any of the Pats or Fins game, but I was able to catch all of the Jets game, and they were dominant to say the least. Granted they were playing the Tampa Bay Bucs, who only have one win, but this game was never even remotely close. The Bucs didn't gain a first down until midway through the 3rd quarter. What makes that even more pathetic is they didn't even earn it-- Bart Scott's chili was running a lil' too hot, and he was flagged for unnecessary roughness after a 3rd down play. I have to give the Bucs some respect though, they played their little malfunctioning hearts out, they even converted on that cute onside kick after making the game 19-3, but at the end of the day-- it was like Varsity Vs. JV out there.

The Defense made Josh Freeman look like a lost boy, and the rushing game ran like the well oiled machine that it is. Unfortunately, but not surprising, the passing game was the same story, different quarterback.Kellen Clemens looked like doo-doo out there. I mean by no means has Sanchez been Montana this season, but Clemens couldn't hit Andre the Giant on a post route. The accuracy just wasn't there, and might never be there for Clemens. Balls were sailing high, and when they weren't high worms were fearing for their lives because they were so low.

Clemens did have his moments in the second half though, but not enough to warrant the start over a healthy Sanchez-- Maybe you let Sanchez take an extra week off to rehab, but now since the Jets, contrary to my previous projections are in thick of the playoff hunt, can they really afford another clunker of a start from Clemens?

This should be a interesting last 3 weeks of the season. The Jets do have a tough schedule, but after the Falcons they face the Colts, and Bengals-- Both of those teams are in the playoffs, and if their seeds are locked up they might rest their starters. Either way this defense is good, perhaps even great, and the unit is most certainly good enough to keep the Jets in any game they play.
