DP...DP...DP

According to Chris Botta of islanderspointblank.com Islanders franchise goalie Rick Dipietro is expected to play in his first "conditioning" game Saturday night for the Islanders AHL affiliate Bridgeport Sound Tigers. According to Botta the plan is to have DP play only part of the game.

Don't get me wrong Dwayne Roloson is playing out of his mind right now...The things is hes old, and old legs fall off to easily towards the end of the season. DP hasn't just been a headache for the Islanders fans the past few seasons, he has been a never ending migraine, but a healthily DP(which many believe he finally is) can go along way towards improving the Islanders playoff hopes. Right now Roli is the Islanders #1 netminder, with Marty Biron spelling him. If and when DP comes back, and can play on a regular basis it will allow the Islanders to trade Biron to a team in need of a solid veteran goaltender. What the Islanders could get in return would be epic...they are looking for a veteran forward who can do it all and solidify the young offense of the Islanders. If all goes to plan signs point to Islanders perhaps sneaking into the playoffs this year after being the worst team in the NHL last year.
