It's on like Donkey Kong

Floyd Mayweather Jr. reportedly has agreed to terms and given the green light on fighting Welterweight Champion Manny Pacquiao. Dreams really do come true for boxing fans and us average guys that still like seeing a good fight every now and then. This is just what boxing needs to get back in the spotlight. MMA has been killing boxing over the past couple decades. If Mayweather stays true to his word, this could be one of the most anticipated fights for boxing since the Tyson heydays.

As of right now, there are 2 dates being considered for the fight, March 13th and May 1st. The sooner the better in my eyes, but right now most signs are pointing to the May 1st date.

There hasn't been a venue set at this time either however there are a few different options being thrown around. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said he would be interested in having the fight take place in the new Cowboys Stadium. The Superdome in New Orleans is also an option along with the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas. The fight is going to be fought at 147 pounds. It is crazy to think, when Pacquiao started his professional boxing career he fought at 106 pounds.

Let's pray Money Mayweather follows through on his word and this fight goes down both for the people and also the sport of boxing itself.
